ZERO

Zero progress with zero days left!

Well, Travis and I had a bet that our little missy would have made no progress and we were absolutely correct! So, with no major contractions and little news to report, this update will be brief. In the meantime, I'll continue to get the house in order and run errands like a mad woman. Travis will continue to mourn the loss of DINK-dom (Double Income, No Kids). He likes to call it: DINK R-I-P.

Just days to go...

Phew - we've had a busy weekend getting ready. We had several errands to run to get the last minute necessities like diapers, the car seat & stroller and a changing pad. You should see Travis walking around Costco with a giant box of Huggies! I think he felt vulnerable and quite awkward, if you ask me. :) (I have to admit, I felt the same)

We have a few minor touchups that we want to make to the nursery, but otherwise, I think that we're ready to go! We had a tour of the hospital a couple weeks ago and got a good feel for what we're supposed to do when the time arrives. Of course, that's assuming that we don't have to go in to be induced. Personally, I've felt great up until this point. So, with only one week left, I'm not surprised that I'm starting to feel tired and slow. Sleeping now is more of a pain and I can't wait for the day that I can sleep on my back!

The beagles seem to know something is up. We're keeping a close eye on them and as you know, we have all the plans in the world to make sure they aren't left out. ;) After all, they have been our kids for over 6 years! We have another appointment on Wednesday, August 8th, but after that, we'll go in the following Sunday night to start the process. Eeeeeeck!

Due in 11 days!

With 11 days left to go until our due date on August 9th, we've completed all of our prenatal classes, finally finished the nursery and are both officially nesting! I think it's funny that they call it nesting, but it seems to be very true. Both Travis and I are trying to get our work schedules in order with backup plans and deadlines. He'll take a couple weeks off while I'm planning on 11-12 weeks total. It will be interesting to see how we manage with a new family member! Our doc said he won't let us go too much past the due date and so since she's showing no signs of coming out anytime soon, I could be induced on August 13th. No matter what, she'll be here within 15 days!!

Here are some photos of the nursery and such. We'll try not to make it too cheesy with the proud parent photos ;)

WHAT!?! Only 5 Saturdays left?

Oh dear, we've now officially hit pre-baby crisis mode. "There's so much to be done!" exclaims mama and papa. This is the time where you start dropping things to the bottom of the list because you no longer have time to get them accomplished along with everything else that needs to be done in 5 Saturdays. Oh well!

Since my last post, I've been able to spend more time with friends and family at baby showers. I've seen some people that I haven't seen in years and it's been really great to get caught up. I'm lucky to have so many friends that already have babies so there's many people I can ask for assurance and advice.

We're almost ready with the nursery and nope, we still haven't decided on a name (although I feel like that is the least of our worries). Hopefully by the next time we check-in there will be some major progress to report!

Did you know...

I had a friend recently come up to me and say, "Did you know you only have 13 weeks left?" Ummm, no I didn't. I hadn't really thought of it that way and had a mental moment thinking of all the things we still needed to get done in the next 13 weeks! WE NEED A NAME for crying out loud. Okay, no need to fret, but I decided to add the countdown ticker on the bottom of the blog to keep me in line with time. :)

Within the past week and a half, I've noticed some major changes with the tummy region. Up until this point, I've been able to wear almost all of my regular clothes, but I finally had to pull out the panel pants and maternity tops. It's not so cute when your midriff is showing, but you're actually not wearing a belly shirt. The best part is feeling her move around (although it can be quite strange). As much as she moves, I can't help but think that I might have an animal in my body!

Our next appointment is on Tuesday, May 15th and it's the glucose test with the special orange drink. As for the flight last week, everything turned out great! We're excited to go to Boston in June, but that might be it for the rest of the summer. Time is going by fast!!
