Does Easter = Spring?

Not in Utah! We just got another 5 inches of snow at our house this morning and so it appears that Old Man Winter is going NO WHERE. Luckily, we were able to sneak in a quick Easter Egg Hunt a couple weekends ago. I was surprised by how quickly Mia figured it out. She's never been to an Easter Egg Hunt before, but once she had the basket in hand, she was all about business.

I know my posts have been few and far between, but now that I've deactivated my Facebook account (ah-ha!), I have rededicated myself to blogging. :) Blog on!

Snowshoeing with Marisa & Matthew!

Marisa & Matthew (friends from Seattle) were in town this past weekend and we had a really fun time catching up with them. Mia was quite the talker, toddled here and there and even went snowshoeing with us!

Our Valentine

Valentine's was a little sweeter this year with Mia. She loves to give kisses so it was
definitely her special day!
(Maybe not so special for Piper)
Mia finally got to wear a pretty dress that Aunt Kim gave her when she was itsy bitsy. Being 18 months, it's time to move on to a new wardrobe since she's growing out of everything! The hardest part for me is growing out of the shoes. Seems like she only gets to wear them twice and then it's over. Hope you had a fun Valentine's! XOXOXO

I don't know what you're talking about??

There is no way that we have a problem with bottles in our house. I just talked to Mia about it yesterday - I thought she said she was ready to give it up, until I saw these photos from the paparazzi...

Afternoons with Daddy

It's still a bit of a transition for mom and dad, but I know Mia is enjoying every second of it! With Travis home now, he's able to get in a little daddy-daughter time. Check this out...an afternoon of ski jumping up in Park City.

Sounds like Mia just camped out on her diaper bag for the trials. Chillin' in the sun with snacks and her Dad - what a life. :)

Right, left, right...

We are walking! Of course, I'm talking about Mia and although I think she would still prefer to crawl, we've had several steps this weekend going back and forth between mommy and daddy who were sitting on the floor with open arms. If you're a parent, I know you've all done it, but it was such an amazing thing to see. Funny thing is that she was also just as amazed...staring at her feet as she would take each step. It's miraculous to see the brain make the connection, to watch learning in action and all the while, to see her smile. Phew! What a sense of accomplishment!!

Speaking of accomplishments, I survived week 1 back at work. Ick. It was kinda tough, I will be the first to admit it. But I found lots of empathy from others who had been on their sabbatical and many who mentioned that I will need weeks to truly recover and get back into the swing of things. Okay, the reality is that I do love my job and I'm very lucky to have it, so I'll be good and get back to work. :)

Travis should also be proud since he survived the whole week - I never had any doubts! I think the worst part is that Mia now favors daddy since he's home with her more, but could you complain? I love it that Travis is home with Mia and that we're at least trying a new thing for a while. We'll see how long it lasts...

PS If you've got your speakers turned on, this song is one of Mia's favorites so I had to put it on the blog. She first heard it on the iPod commercial and if the truth be known, she especially likes it when her dad tries to sing it to her. ;)
