School Pictures

Wow! Have the school photos changed or what? I don't recall sitting on anything except for a box draped with a blanket. I remember black plastic combs (that you didn't share for the same reasons why kids shouldn't share combs today) and I didn't have an elegant chair with a soft ivory background!! All I know is I had a piece of spearmint gum in my mouth that was used to bribe me to take the picture. :) Mia, I love you! You look beautiful and I can only hope that you love school as much as I did. So far, so good since she loves participating and our first parent teacher conferences were fun. Sounds like Mia's been a good addition to her Montessori program and she's made friends quickly. Stay cool, stay in school!

From the viewpoint of a 3 year old

"Why is Dad riding his motorcycle? Does he want to get some air?"
(Of special note) "When is Grandpa Gil coming back?"
"Mom, did you choose me? Did you pick me at the store?"
"I just want to be mellow. I loooove to be mellow."
"Mom, I'm going to miss you today."
"Is candy healfy?" aka: Is candy healthy?
"Mom, I wish you would take me to Seattle." *sigh*
"My eyes keep falling asleep and I don't want them to!"
"It's my lucky day, today, mom!"
"Dad, when you ski, don't bonk into the pokey trees!"
In the morning: "Mom, you are so cool." By the evening: "Mom, you are driving me crazy!"
"Mama, I really missed you today. I was SO sad."
"It's TOO HARD jumping in puddles!"
[Before going outside] "Hey, Mom! Are you going to get Zoe's blanket so she doesn't blow away?"

From the viewpoint of a 2 year old

"Mom, are you fragile?"
"When you be mean to me, my Dad is going to throw you in your room!"
"I have big hair and Dad has little hair."
"Just one more minute."
"Ok, I'm not going to cry at school."
"I want to move out!"
[The bait and switch] "Hey, mom! How about some milk for you and Zoe?"
"You're a witch! ... And I'm a princess." :)
[Mom] "Mia, you're going to be a big sister. Do you know what that is?" [Mia] "A big sister like Dora?"
"Mom, I'm so glad I found you."
[Mom] "Mia, please eat your ham." [Mia] "That's im-paus-ible."
"Daddy, I make you happy. You make me happy, too!"
